Below and here is the age and gender discrimination lawsuit filed this week by Managing Director Suzy Reingold, 66, against real estate titan Cushman & Wakefield.

The suit alleges, in sum, that notwithstanding plaintiff’s “stellar performance and extensive experience,” defendant discriminated against her on the basis of her gender and age by paying her less than men who performed similar jobs and failing to promote her to the position of President, and then retaliated against her after she complained.

Specifically, she alleges that defendant hired a less experienced 38-year old male “outsider” despite promising the position to her.  In support of her age discrimination claims, she alleges that high-level executives made derogatory age-related remarks, such as by calling older employees “dinosaurs” and stating that “we need young people.”

She asserts claims for breach of contract and violations of Labor Law § 194 (New York’s equivalent of the federal Equal Pay Act), New York Labor Law § 215, the New York State Human Rights Law, and the New York City Human Rights Law.
